What is that one place you can't get enough of? Mine is Hollywood, Florida. Nothing much to it ... it's just my special place where I go when I want to think.
Seriously, though, Hollywood is a great place to go just contemplate stuff. There's never a hurry down there, the weather is nice, etc. Sometime I'm going to have to make it back down there.
As for where my favorite spot in the world is... I'm going to have to get back to you on that. That's a tough one.
By your own admission, you just put the toilet on your list of favorite spots. Well, at least it's usually nearby and doesn't require a flight to get to. (Although if you've ever tried to escape to an airline bathroom to think, you'll change your mind quickly about that strategy.)
Julie - I happen to like toilets, too, and boy have I seen all kinds! The best are the standing-over-a-porcelain-hole-in-the-ground toilets in Italy and the wild bush toilet in Africa, the kind where you crouch down behind a bush to pee hoping a lion doesn't bit your butt while doing it!
My lowest point in life was an emergency stop at a gas station bathroom outside Atlanta. It was a one-holer, with a broken seat and the light didn't work. So there I sat in the dark, just grateful at that second I wasn't soiling my pants (because it was that close), stinking up what was a filthy hole to begin with. Then the toilet wouldn't flush. When I emerged, the cashier was pacing the sidewalk, waiting to lock up behind me. I figured what he didn't know would smell really awful in the morning ... but I'd be three states away by then.
The Villages Florida. Golf. Golf. Golf. Oh - and only 90 minutes from either beach - Atlantic or Gulf. Oh yeah - mom & dad are there too and Lisa only an hour away.
